Are there any docs on migrating from Synchronet to Mystic? I'm looking to migrate Synchronet/Allfix/Radius to Mystic and want to know if there are docs showing how to migrate my configurations into Mystic.

You could have SCFG in one window, with Mystic's config in another window, and move things over manually. ;)

Oh, yeah most definitely. Export a fidonet.na from SCFG and you can import it into Mystic using mutil.ini.

You didn't specify your message and file areas. You said configuration in general. ;)

Take a look at mutil.ini. There are a bunch of different stanza's you can enable/disable there. Importing fidonet.na or areas.bbs are options there, if I
remember right. You can save different .ini files for different operations, like mail processing, importing message/file areas, etc.

Then you would have to run 'mutil <savedini>.ini' and it will do the work for you. ;)

MUTIL will import a FIDONET.NA file, which will help with creating areas based on my current config. FIDONET.NA doesn't contain a list of up/downlinks, which AREAS.BBS does. Unless I missed a message, I haven't seen a message explaining how to import the AREAS.BBS file to catch the downlink information.

Yeah, I can see where being able to import AREAS.BBS would be very useful. I simply haven't looked into this issue. I already run my FTN hub on Mystic. :)

Migrating the areas is simple. In SCFG go into each of your message groups
and export the areas as FIDONET.NA format, which Mystic's MUtil will import into your msg areas

Unfortunatly it is not possible. You have to enter all of your downlinks information into mystic's configuration, it's an all-in-one system

The only thing about that is that all the information that will be transferred via AREAS.BBS (links-wise) would be what links are connected to what echomail areas.

That would be awesome, if something could actually be made to work in regards to this for newer softwares. I believe Fastecho's nodes can be exported, and FMail can read that on import.. probably because they were originally started around the same time.

I don't think SBBS or SBBSecho can export actual link information. However, SBBSecho does save link information to a text file (ie: sbbsecho.ini), as does HPT (fidoconfig).. albeit two completely different formats.. so it would probably be a pain in the ass to make anything work with more than one software. ;(
