I just figured out message grouping.... nice...

I have a question about echo mail... there is an option to ignore
scanning mail for those who are currently online... is there a reason for this?? can mail be exported while someone is online...

Mail can be exported while someone is online. That setting is there, I
think, so mystic will wait for you to do all your replies and then send them all out after you log off, as opposed to sending them out one at a time as
you write them. Works fine either way. Nice to be flexible.

Yes this is how you do it.

Head to mystic -cfg and then into configuration > message base settings

The change the option 'create semaphore' to be 'MsgPost'

Then in your .ini file that runs the [ExportEchoMail] stanza add the
following

[snip]

[ExportEchoMail]

; Do not export messages from users currently online
skip_online = false

[snip]

This will ensure messages posted while someone is online are sent out within
60 secs of them being posted.

Yes it can be exported while online if you want it to be.

But sometimes when a user is online they'll make a post, and then as they finish reading messages they'll see their own message and notice something
they want to edit.

If you have Mystic configured to not toss their messages until they log off, then they'll be able to edit their message up until they end the session.

If you turn that feature off, it will be sent out almost instantly depending
on how you have your system configured.

There's good arguments either way. Because I'm the only regular user and frequently stay online for long periods, I had to turn that option off, so my mail could be scanned in a timely manner, but I can certainly see why one would want this option. Ideally, it would be a per-user option, but I suspect that could be a complicated undertaking for you, I'm not asking for that change, you've got enough on your plate. :)

It could be a per-user option, but are users really easily going to understand what that option means when they see it in their account settings?

Well, if the sysop sets a sensible default (e.g. delay scanning until logoff for normal users), and then sets their own mail to be sent immediately, because they stay logged in, it could still be useful.

And some users _will_ understand. :)

Ok. I know how to do this in current versions of Mystic; however I am
wanting to do this in 1.07.3 and cannot seem to get it right:

The ACS hasn't changed for groups ever in Mystic based on my memory. But you're also using a version from 1998 or so, and I can't promise my memory
