It was a discussion taking place in fsxNet related to some issues with
downlink packets not being accepted by BBBS when sent to it after tossing via
a Mystic system as the intermediary.

James has worked on the tossing EXE (MUTIL) and modded the code so Chad is
now able to send things to Janis (in this case) who's running a BBBS system.

That's the short version but Jeff et al. can fill in the other bits I may
have missed :)

That's pretty much it. It was just a simple issue of how mail was sent to
BBBS and only affected between Mystic and BBBS.

No none issues with anything else.

BBBS has an optional check that looks at each individual message's "from address field" within PKTs and refuses to toss the message if its address does not match the system that sent the PKT.

FTS-0001 describes those fields as the message origin address, and specifically says that each message's origin addresses will not be the same as the sending system address.

Because BBBS has a security option which violates that statement, I had to change Mystic so that it re-addresses every individual echomail message with its own AKA when tossing "through" echomail from a downlink to another link.

This is a BBBS-specific thing as far as I can tell; its never been a problem with any other tosser (confirmed by networks using Mystic to hub several hundred downlinks of all software types).

Yeah, I didn't noticed what version Gary was running. He's been up for about 6 months. I'm gonna have to log on and upgrade his system for him. He's a cool dude (Gary Barr)


Tipping my hat to him, he's a VERY busy paramedic trying to run and set up a BBS, it was my PLEASURE to get him connected! I'm gonna help him setup and mod his BBS some more too...
