  • The Death of Carrie Fisher

    I just wanted to say especially sad for me. I JUST returned from seeing Star Wars Rogue One and the last face on the screen was Princess Leia.

    I came home to the breaking news on my internet feed and CNN that she had passed away which could not have been more than an hour earlier and just may have been close to the time I was seeing Carrie's face on the screen.

    With a tear in my eye... RIP.

    I was born in 1978. This means I never knew a time when a
    princess could not be an ass-kicking, snarky heroine in a film.
    The character that Carrie Fisher brought to life in Star Wars
    changed the world. She will be deeply missed, not only for
    Princess Leia Organa, but for her wit, her fight to normalize
    mental ilnesses, and her larger-than-life personality. The entire
    world is a much better place for having known her.

    And Postcards From the Edge. It's strange why her mother said she was in ICU and stable condidion. Any human that goes without a heartbeat for 15 minutes (what I heard on the news) doesn't have much of a life left.

    I'm sorry she's gone, too, but as John Wayne said in the movie Hondo, "Everybody gets dead".

    And today her mother followed her into the great beyond when she suffered a stroke at her son Todd's house while making preperations for Carrie's funeral and memorial service.

    Well, "Stable Condition" really just means you're not getting any worse at the moment. It doesn't really mean you're in good shape.

    It's just like 2016 wants to kill all our childhood heroes and icons and is trying to get as many last minute ticks off the checklist... but this one was going too far.

    And then her mom dies the next day!

    Well, "Stable Condition" really just means you're not getting any
    worse at the moment. It doesn't really mean you're in good shape.

    Being without a pulse for 15 minutes on an airplane before being admitted to ICU is not a stable sign and wishful thinking on her mother's part. Ask anyone
    you know in the medical profession and they'll tell you the same thing.

    It's just like 2016 wants to kill all our childhood heroes and

    I don't believe that.
