Saw Stephen King's IT on opening night a week or more ago. Enjoyed
it! (no pun intended)

Have had several people ask me, "does it do justice to the orginal?"

To which I've replied, "YES! Very much so! It really gives you
the feel of the book!"

I've had a few people say, "no, the original movie" (talking about
the mini series in 1990 or so. :-)




... We should back the Metric System every inch of the way.

I saw It too. Yes, it appears so far, the movie is true to the book in most aspects. We shall have to wait and see if Chapter 2 does the same....

things I care about) so I was shocked at the end when it said Chapter 1.

It was a pleasant shock, but still there. I know 2 hours into the movie
I was wondering, "when are they going to show the adults?" :-)

The thing I notice with some of King's work is that sometimes the stories easily split off into so many sub-stories or elaborate character
backgrounds and when those stories get adapted into movies, a lot of that gets lost. Mostly either time constraints or budget reasons.

I knew with a running time of 2 and a half hours that there was NO way the new It movie was going to cover everything in that thousand-page novel.

Not just King's work - Harry Potter movies are the same way. I'm sure
others are too, but I've not nessasarily read the source material. :-)
