    Hello All!

What did y'all think of that movie?

Picked it up on Redbox. Can't really remember much about it,
so it didn't have a big impact, but it was okay.

More of a Star Wars fan, so as long as there is new Star wars
content that will get my attention. :-)

I was disappointed by it. To me, it lacked the imagination of its creator. I also think they should find someone else to play the role of Chekov.

I like them both, but without Luke in the movie, it lacks something. Han Solo being killed by his own son in the movie and then the death of Carrie Fisher afterward was a blow to the franchise. I'm now wondering where Rey (Daisy Ridley) got her power of the force from.

Yeah - I can see that. I do remember the little 'tribute' to Nimoy
in there on the death of "old Spock." That was touching.

I disagree, but I respect that opinion. :-) I'm enjoying Rebels and I
enjoyed Clone Wars as well, so 'Luke" being a part is not a prerequisite
for me to enjoy it. :-)

We also play the RPG, and the PC's are the 'stars,' so I'm used to the
'big three' not being a part.

Han Solo being killed by his own son in the movie

Plot progression. :-) Was a 'bummer' in that you hate to see a loved character die, but people die in most of the Star Wars movies.

On a related note... Have you seen Rogue One yet?

    and then the death of
Carrie Fisher afterward was a blow to the franchise.

Can't disagree with that, but the show will go on.

    I'm now wondering
where Rey (Daisy Ridley) got her power of the force from.

It's a common 'wondering' point. :-) But I'm fine with NO SPOILERS
and to wait and see it unfold...

Sort of like the red-shirted crewmen in "Star Trek".

On a related note... Have you seen Rogue One yet?

No. I did some searching and found two different ones. One was 3:27 hours long (must have had a lot of extras) and the other was about 2:10 hours. I'm still deciding which one I would want.

    The show MUST go on.

I'll wait since I have no choice.

Yep - else this would be a very boring "me too" thread! LOL

No, I disagree totally. Yes, there are several 'no names' in Star Wars
that get killed (stormtroopers, rebel troopers, Ewoks, droids etc.) but also MAIN CHARACTERS! You don't get that often in Star Trek...

    Ep IV - Uncle Owen - Aunt Buru - Obi-Wan - Tarkin
Ep V - actually no one particular in that one - it's the exception :-)
Ep VI - Jabba - Fett - Yoda - Vader
    Ep I - Qui Gon
Ep II - Schmi - Jango
    Ep III - LIBERTY - Mace - Plo - Grievous - Dooku
    Ep VII - Han

I pre-ordered on iTunes - haven't watched it yet there though.

That we can agree on :-)

LOL - same here, ultimately, but again I don't just NOT go looking for
    spoilers - I AVOID them! :-)

    Hello All!

What did y'all think of that movie?

I enjoyed it. I mean, it's not the best Trek ever by a longshot, but it
was fun. Nice tie-in with Star Trek: Enterprise and stuff, but it could be better.
