Seriously, I like to eat/drink at the computer myself...either for the BBS, or for ham radio nets. To me, the computer is my "TV".

My computer is my TV as well. I got rid of cable TV and my TV years ago. From what I have read there is nothing on TV that even interests me. I can find stuff that does on the net.
I enjoy history and documentaries and there are many such shows on You Tube I
can either stream or download for later.

But, you see the pictures of these idiots, who are wondering why they can't get a job. It reminds me of the picture of the squirrel, praying "Lord, please stop the stupid people from breeding. We're being overrun down here!!".

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln on poor people, The good Lord must love stupid people, he made so many of them. :)

If there was an echo on "stupid things observed", I'm sure we could fill it with a bunch of stories...talk about rolling ones eyes!!

There are many videos on YT with people doing stupid things. I'll watch those from time to time.

    Joe,

My computer is my TV as well. I got rid of cable TV and my TV years ago.

I have the basic internet from Comcast...just so I wouldn't have to
pay through the nose and out the wazoo for high speed internet.

I enjoy history and documentaries and there are many such shows on You Tub
can either stream or download for later.

I watch train videos from Danny Harmon (aka Railfan Danny)...and at
times, the classic TV shows...such as Hollywood Squares (especially with
the late Paul Lynde and his zingers), and What's My Line? (with Groucho
    Marx stealing the show). <G>

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln on poor people, The good Lord must love stup
people, he made so many of them. :)

    Amen to that!!

There are many videos on YT with people doing stupid things. I'll watch
    those from time to time.

I saw one where a woman (don't recall if she was a blonde or not <G>)
was using the Power Washer at a Car Wash *INSIDE* her car!! You figure
    it out.

I have the basic as well.
My d/l speed is 72.30 mbps and upload is 6.16.
(Just ran a speed test at http://www.speedtest.net/ And for CNET (https://www.cnet.com/internet-speed-test/) its 99.85 which is fast enough for me. :)
I've run tests on my wifi laptop from my router and its about the same give or take a .xx mbps.
I get calls every so often for a special offer for faster speeds at lower prices, for a few months then the price goes up. No thanks.

times, the classic TV shows...such as Hollywood Squares (especially with the late Paul Lynde and his zingers), and What's My Line? (with Groucho Marx stealing the show). <G>

I've watching What's My Line from the first shows around 1950 straight through in order and currently up to late 1962.
I enjoy how the celebrity panel is often so interested in whatever line the guest happens to have. They seem genuine in their interest.
I can't see modern columnists, actors, etc being interested in anything some peon does. Or even lowering themselves to speak to such a person.
I absolutely love Arlene Francis. She seems like someone people would want to be around and there are times she'll make some comment and I'll think it was
fortunate the show was live since the censor might think something else. Never
anything dirty, but some comment, or a look she'll give, etc.
And poor Bennett Cerf. He wouldn't even be on the show today. Some attractive woman is on the show and he'll comment how pretty they are, what a nice figure they have, does that have any bearing on what your line is, etc.
And I love John Daley's convoluted answers that go on and on with a panelist saying "I'm sorry I brought it up".

Don't know if the same one, but have seen others like that.
There are many fail videos there and I wonder so often if the whole thing was
    planned or not.
Then there are the many car crash videos.

The only reason I have the basic cable, is so the high speed internet
cost isn't through the roof. I rarely watch the TV anyway.

There was one comment about where the person's clientele was from. The response was "California", and her reply of "So many people are" about
had John Daly fall out of the chair!! I don't remember the entire
sequence, so I probably butchered it. But, the audience was howling in laughter.

There are times when talking with people and getting no where I'll say "that's seven down and three to go and now to Arlene". (People under 50 generally have no idea what I'm talking about).

Then there are the many car crash videos.

With all these, no wonder everyone's insurance is through the roof.

Many of those car crash videos are from Russia, since they are such lousy drivers. Dash cams are (I think) required in all cars.
There are so many scenes some other driver pulls in front of the car "you are
in" and instead of taking evasive action (slowing, stopping, going around) the driver merely lays on the horn and slams into the other car. (These are for when there is time to take action, not something just suddenly appearing in front mere feet from the car).
I think if I were 45 or 50 years younger and looking for a job I'd start a body shop in Russia. I would be rolling in rubles.
But so many of cars today when hit merely fall apart. Bumpers and fenders go
flying in all directions, etc. Even in minor fender benders.
They aren't driving some junky Russian car, but American, European and Asian cars, just as we see on American streets every day.

In a word, really. Then, you have shows where Groucho Marx is on the
panel, and you can forget about any sense of normalcy. <G>

There was a bumper sticker a few years back, that while a bit vulgar,
it was true: "Wrap your @$$ in fiberglass...drive a Corvette". Indeed,
if you sneezed, etc., it'd seemingly crinkle up. Years ago, the cars
were built like tanks. Nowadays, the "crash test" should be an
indication of how they perform after you buy it...but, some folks want
to verify that crash test result for themselves, I guess.

Whenever you had Groucho anywhere there was no sense of normalcy. :)
When he and his brothers were on stage no two performances were the same.
He would never stick to a script and this hampered him on radio since every nano-second was timed. Groucho would ad lib all the time and throw everyone (and the time) off.
There was a show he was on with Bob Hope. Groucho disregarded the script and finally Bob, who was known for his ad libs, threw his on the floor and they
winged it for 15 minutes of solid laughs.
If it hadn't been for the invention of audio tape at the right time he would
have never lasted on You Bet Your Life, it would have ever made it to the air with him in the first place. They would record nearly two hours of material and edit that down to a half hour show.
I remember one What's My Line show from 1959 when he was on the panel. When
everyone else was masked for the mystery guest his was upside down, covering his mouth with his eyes showing.

    "Wrap your @$$ in fiberglass...drive a Corvette".

I recall riding in a Corvette only once.
It was in the '70s and I was hitch hiking a lot then.
A guy in a late model Vet gave me a ride and it was sitting on the floor with
my legs sticking out straight. And I noticed every bump. If we drove over an ant it was noticed. The driver bragged about how you could feel the road. I was being bounced and jarred and said readily agreed. :)

Not the vehicle you want to ride in on a road full of potholes. :P
