Actually, now that tats and piercings are becoming ever more common, it really is less of a handicap than it used to be

Many look like they belong in a circus sideshow.
I guess one good thing about visible ones would being able to make a positive
ID in case of a crime. :)

End of story. Today I see people of all ages with them.
Years ago I worked security only part time, usually for only football/basketball games.
I was in a dollar store, football season about the start, and saw temporary tats on the counter. I thought of getting one and placing it where it was visible, just for the reaction of higher ups.
I chickened out and never did buy one.

bottom, done with that. Well, if it makes them feel better, more power
to them...as I noted in another post, I have better things to spend my
money on.

There was a thing called "temporary tattoos" awhile back, but I don't
think they could actually be classified as "true tattoos", since you
could remove them quickly when you wanted to. From what I understand,
removal of a regular tattoo is extremely expensive and painful.

I have no intention to ever getting either a tattoo or a piercing... NB>don't even have pierced ears... I have plenty of friends and family
that do have some sort of tattoo... and some with peircings other than NB>just ears for earrings...

Janice had 3 small piercings in her earlobe, and we both agreed "that
was enough".

they still have them... they're made from india ink... they cannot be easily removed, either... they have to wear off... the idea is to try one temporarily and see if you like it... if you do then you can have it done permenant...

I'd worry about infection...not every tattoo parlor has the best of
sanitary practices.

So one would have to be careful where they went... most places that
remove tattoos are part of some medical facility, so they should be
using best practice.... one of the exceptions might be going to a tattoo
parlor to get a new tat over the old to change its character...
