I see all, know all, tell nothing.
Spoken like a moderator...<G> Let the guilty shake in their boots... ;)
When I was in parking I always told the new people the first day in training (where we covered a lot of territory) it was best to fess up
to anything they were guilty of, don't even try to snow myself or our civilian boss. When we ask a question about work, we generally already know the answer. If someone were accused of something (often a he
said/she said situation) by a violator the violator was generally in
the wrong and we just wanted the officers side of the story.
(Violators would make up stories of being verbally assaulted, etc and
far from the truth, much like stories today where cops body cams tell another story.)
And I sometimes knew things and would only mention
it in passing much to that persons amazement I knew. :)
(And there were times I had absolutely no idea what was going on.<g>)
I remember once someone telling me that he had taken a particular
photo... I responded with something like, "yes..?"... and he figured I'd caught him out in his lie.... He said he'd never try to lie to me again, since I could tell... Never told him that it was just a lucky
question... ;)

There have been times I didn't really know for sure and would bluff
my way through until the truth came out.
I didn't tell people they were lying, unless I knew for sure, but
would say something like "What if I told you..." and that would bring
out the truth. There were times I'll use the Mother Card "Look me
straight in the eye..." :)
