The only benefits I have at work is a pay cheque on time.

That helps.

With my company there is no health insurance or anything else. We don't e
get vacation time. I was told once by a superior officer the company "owns" JM>us, and are on call 24/7/365. That we employees are to be available at a JM>moments notice to fill in, etc.

And, they require 2 weeks notice in advance of your death. :P

He was recently ex-military and I asked him what's one of the first thing
you learn in the military? Don't ever volunteer for nothin'. :)

convenient for them to work. And once the routine kicks in after a few week JM>of the novelty of a new job they start slacking off or they quit.

Its too easy for people to claim some sort of "disability" and collect al
sorts of freebies then laugh at the people who do work to support them.

The thing is, all mine have been confirmed by X-ray. I was denied
twice, and I went before an administrative law judge. I was awared it 7
months before my wife died...and they keep finding stuff wrong with me.
This past October, it was discovered I'm in the early stages of
degenerative disk disease in my spine...to go along with the arthritis throughout my body.

I had gotten a car in a handicap space and a picture.
The violator stormed into the office vehemently denying they had done that
there were no signs or markings, etc demanding the ticket be voided.
The woman in the office pulled up the picture which showed not only her ca
in the space, HC signs and markings on the pavement, but her as well with an JM>open backdoor while she was doing something (putting something into or getti JM>something out of the back seat). Busted.

Did she apologize, or get even more angry?? It sounds like a deal
years ago, when the cameras aboard the school buses caught kids involved
in an orgy in the back seat. They identified the kids, and called in
their parents. When the parents said "Not my kid", the video was shown.
The parents filed a lawsuit against the school district for "invasion of privacy". You figure it out.

I'm not 100 per cent positive about this, but I heard years ago that if a miner would injure themselves and be unable to dig coal for some reason they qualified as being "disabled" and get all sorts of handouts and freebies. Never mind they could do any variety of other work. (Of course other work would require some of re-training, but then what job doesn't require some sort of training? Either on the job or schooling, etc).

She got even more angry being caught not only in the violation but in a lie as well.

On our city buses there are cameras aimed at different areas in case anything
should happen.
Around town, in businesses and on campus are cameras recording everything. They may be mounted on poles, walls, ceilings, entrances, exits, etc. There is
no monitoring these 24/7, but anything happens the video can be pulled up.
Outside on campus are new cameras that film in the dark as if broad daylight.
Thieves have been caught breaking into cars in dark secluded where they thought they were safe. Plus the video can zoom into even a small area when need be.
Many cameras today are not the large clunky ones of the past, but have small domed shaped covers which unless you look for them aren't seen.
So long as a photograph is taken in a public area, one can do that. You can take a picture of picture of someone entering or leaving their house, but one taken through a window inside is frowned upon.

It reminds me of the cartoon where the guy is trying to take a nap on
the couch. His wife, with a shrill, whiney voice, comes in, and asks
"Are you asleep??". He growls "No, dead. Leave the flowers, and get

That's what I tell fellow ham radio operators, but it's true with
every organization. Once you volunteer for something, it's yours until
you die. Everyone wants the GLORY, but NOT the GALL and the WORK
involved, and they think "everything happens by itself".

Yeah, right. Reminds me of the excuse one user tried on the BBS once.
He wanted "access to the adult file areas, for a sex education class
research project". My response?? "Nice try...and I don't have any adult
files (pornography) over here". Another caller, when I was on dial-up,
paged me for chat, and asked where the adult files were. When I typed
"the internet", his response was <CLICK!> NO CARRIER. :P

Fact finding missions...on how "we can dupe the voters more than we
already have". :P

Those who are legitimately disabled, I have no problem with. There was
a story of one guy who got certified as disabled, but they caught him
climbing a ladder to work on his roof. The cat was out of the bag.

Several years ago I got a call from a fellow parking officer saying he had fallen and hurt his back.
I picked him up in the cart and went to the office. I had no incident report
paperwork so asked him to simply write what happened, read it over and told him
to go to the ER, bring back the paper work, etc.
When he was leaving a civilian working in parking and I noticed there was no dirt on the back of his uniform. He said he had slipped on some snow in a certain area of a parking garage, which was was dusty and dirty, no matter how often it was cleaned. Dirt and dust blew in the open areas.
I had contacted my superior officer who met us in the garage where he was to
have fallen. It was early March and some snow was piled up here and there where the wind had blown it. No footprints, no impression of a body, etc.
The garage is full of cameras and video from all angles, times and floors were reviewed. Nothing.
The time he was writing tickets was double checked. At the time he reported falling he was over a block away.
He also filed for workers comp before the ink on his report was dry.
An insurance investigator was put on the case. Together we timed how long it
would take for these events to transpire, walking the distances, and the times didn't agree in the least.
The investigator later filmed him carrying heavy objects, scampering in and out of the back of of pick up, etc when he was supposed to be in so much pain and agony. Busted.
It was later found he pulled similar stunts with other companies collecting workers comp. That landed him in prison.

It's like when these thugs in court who get convicted say "they are sorry". But, it's not sorry for doing the crime (no remorse)...it's
"sorry they got caught".

Absolutely.
And something that annoys me to no end is at a trial the defendant will say "I'm sorry" and some sob sister reporter will say "He said he was sorry" as if that were make up for whatever the crime was.

If I had them in here (I'm surprised they don't have them with the
history of drug runners and meth labs out here), I'd "model for
them"...in "streaking mode" after dark. That'd either excite them, or
make them want to turn it off. LOL
