That's essentially how it is here... maybe not babyfaced, but certainly
have always looked younger than I actually am....

I've only had two real birthday acknowledgements -- Age 19, when my girlfriend was planning a surprise party

I was given one surprise party.
I was turning 36 and this woman who had her cap set for me gave me one,
but I learned in advance about it, but acted like I was surprised.

I'm fine, but I'm demanding a big deal when I hit 100, & every 50 years after!

That's idea I might celebrate as well. :)

True enough, especially with our respective governments gutting the pension plans WE paid for, & inflation killing the value of what was actually going to ever come back to us. . . (sorry, not politics -- just current events om the category of Economics)

I remember having that! Fun for awhile, but after 20+- years, I figured enough is enough, & got a job again, now working two jobs(as usual since having a child), but pretty much my own hours, so I get plenty of time off.

I found that having 7 day weekends each week was devaluing them as time off, as every day blended into the next, but then I hadn't earned that retirement yet -
- to fully appreciate the difference & to accept it as due rest for a life's work well done.

Now I expect to work until minimum age 80, If I'm lucky, & keep working 2-3jobs at a time, or switch to my own company set (& work one job, 15+ hours/day, 6 days/week)

Why not? Who could argue with this as a a demand? Being Canadian (part of the Queen's Commonwealth, I'll get a g formal letter from Her Majesty when I turn 100. I can't help but think I'll get one every 50 years after, too, until the novelty of my age wears off. From the Queen, or whomever is on the throne at the time of each of these milestones -- We also get one(royal letter/greeting) on the 50th wedding anniversary. Hoping my wife can pick up on my one little trick for longevity(not clickbait, as there's nothing to click nothing for sale) (not dying--see? Free!) & stick around for the duration.

She was hot for me but not I for her. She wanted more than just a friendship.
She was a widow and had several children, from about 12-25. I think she
had like five of them. Seems a new one to me popped up every now and then.
My mother and I convinced her to continue her education and she
eventually became a practical nurse and life was better for her.
In 1987 she was having financial problems and needed a car but couldn't afford one. I gave her the car my mother left me but within a just a few months her next to youngest, who had just gotten his license, totaled it.
He died in a motorcycle accident at around 20.
She died a couple of years later after a short illness.

I am an Anglophile. But it saddens me the way England is going now...

Up here, if you were "on call" you have to be paid $15.65/hour for that time, minimum. As of this past June 1st. (last of the 10c/year increase already in law.)
