I think all they can patent/copyright are the names they give the coffee drinks....

A place a group of us meet each Thursday morning has their own "house blend". I joked one day they should change the name of the place from River and Rails to "Maxwell's" and they could offer Maxwell's house coffee". The young woman behind the counter gave me a strange look that was sort of a "huh?"
to "he's caught on to us".
This last week was spring break on campus and I had to act a roamer one day (giving breaks for the guys*, paperwork, etc) and noticed all the dorms** now have coffee makers in the lobbies. And with the coffee maker and coffee were a
half dozen varsities of flavourings in various size containers, both liquid and
powder, along with "cream". (To me "cream" is taken off fresh milk, not in a powder or small packet).
(*Security work in the dorm is sort of a glorified hotel desk clerk: checking
residents guests in and out, etc.
(**While it was break, instead of moving the few students on campus into one building the university for several years has kept a dorm open if only one person in it. So they are not "disrupted". This goes for the week of Thanksgiving and the month for Christmas as well).
JM>> Joe (who like his plain black)

Richard does too... and doesn't like the flavored coffees either

When I was in college a group of us hung out in a small diner near campus. One guy always confused the waitress, "Make mine black, with cream". :)

I, unfortunately, am allergic to coffee

    Horrors!

Or, "you've been found out". <G>

That's like when I worked at Burger King as cashier in central
Arkansas 40 years ago. When a customer wanted a "Plain Whopper", I asked
"Do you mean meat and bread only (which is what plain is to me), or
without cheese??". Or they wanted "A Whopper Junior With Cheese with
just ketchup only"...when I told them that "I'll give you a cheeseburger
with ketchup only...it's the same thing, but cheaper", they wanted the
Whopper Junior With Cheese with ketchup only...and were adamant about
    it.

Or like last week...in a construction zone, the sign says "Left Lane
Closed", but it's the right lane that's closed instead.

I feel like the squirrel praying "Lord, would you please stop the
stupid people from breeding??!! We're being over-run down here"!! I
think the world is run by a bunch of morons...starting in Washington,
DC. I understand that a group of baboons is "a Congress"...it sure makes
    sense now. <G>

I, unfortunately, am allergic to coffee

    Horrors!

I never cared for coffee, either. I used to drink sweet tea with lemon
by the bucketful...but because it has oxylates, and can lead to kidney
stones, my beverage of choice now is "flavored water".

I have seen some of that lately, too.

Now, I'll have that song in my head all day...and I'll have to be like
the cartoon, where the guy is in the hospital bed after surgery, and his
head is all bandaged up. The doctor is there with this huge class jar,
full of musical notes, and the caption says "Good news, Mr. Smith!! We
got rid of that tune that was stuck in your head!!". <G>

Or you see signs that note "Right Lane Closed"...and "Left Lane Ends".
    I guess I'm screwed now. :P

I've got a file board called "The Bizarre Bazaar" over here...for
verified users in good standing, who are over 18. There are some crazy
photos (PG-13) in nature...many of them downloaded from Facebook.

I saw a deal today, where this guy in an office, saw a blonde
co-worker at her desk. She has her legs stretched out, her arms are
folded across her chest, and she looks rather annoyed. So, after a time,
he goes over to her desk, and asks "Can I help you??".

She growls "Well, it's about time!! I pressed the F1 key 20 minutes
    ago"!! <G>
