the dumbest man on earth. When I reached 20 I was surprised to find out how much he had learned". (Or words to that effect).

NB We had a landlady once that had managed to get old without gaining any

wisdom...

I've run into a few of those myself.

I have seen a lot of old movies where people looked older than they were. Say someone in their 50s have gray hair, a little slower, etc. and more like someone in their 80s today.

Some of that might have been makeup... and/or directorial license...

I'm talking about actors who were at that age at the time not a young person made up to look older.
And look at old photo's of family and friends and think "That person was X years old at the time and look a lot older".

In many ways I still feel like a teenager. I don't act like a teenager, but
the vast majority of the time I don't feel any different than I did then.
I have noticed some things are getting more difficult than they used to be.

I don't know about you, but I don't spend time trying to look younger (dyed hair, etc).

NB Oh, I don't do anything like that either... never dyed my hair, don't

intend to...

I have a friend who's in her mid 80s who continues to dye her hair jet black.
I visited her a short while ago and noticed the top of her head was jet black but with gray running along under it as if she she were wearing a black hair cap firmly placed on her head. :)

NB got my fair share of white hairs now intermingled with the

brown, so the overall color isn't as dark a brown as it used to be...

My black hair is fading a touch.

NB wear my hair long as I (almost) always have...

Mine is short.
Partly due to professional reasons and partly due to liking it that way. I never had long hair (shoulder length). Maybe to my nape at the longest and that was years ago.

I don't dress like younger people to "fit in" with them.

NB I'll wear what I feel comfortable in... try to look reasonably nice, but

don't dress up much... Generally long cotton dresses

I haven't worn a dress since I got out of the Navy. (rim shot). :)

up and discover that teachers have something to teach them.... ;)

It still quite depends on the person... and his/her genetic makeup... :)

Mentally, I often don't feel much older than that... maybe early 20's...
and, true, certainly most of the time don't feel much different than
then... except perhaps the years more experiences since then....
Physically, I do feel a difference... just don't bounce back like I used
to when I overdo....

Probably in some ways.. ;) And we all managed to grow up to some
extent anyway... ;) And these silly bodies of ours went and got old
on us when we weren't looking....!! <G>
