Sounds like Groucho. It's like the former comic strip, "Calvin And Hobbes", where Calvin says something to the cop about "a dead body in

Several years ago the criminal justice class on campus had their annual CSI test. Now normally they alert the campus what they are doing, not to touch anything someone might find, etc. This time they didn't.
I was going along in the cart and saw a shell casing laying near a sidewalk.
I made a mental note and going to alert the cops.
On the way I ran into some people in housing I knew and while talking with them we heard this blood curdling scream and this housekeeper came running from
the boiler/storeroom of this one dorm. She was screaming about finding "a dead
body behind the boiler, blood everywhere". We took off to check it out and turned out to be a dummy, fake blood, etc.
The head of housekeeping was not happy over this "practical joke" and threw the dummy into an open top dumpster and told his people to clean up the mess.
An hour or so later the CSI people came to investigate this crime scene and no evidence anywhere.
Housekeeping told them it served them right not letting anyone know.
From then on they made sure the campus knew days in advance. :)

    Ed,

. OLX 1.53 . Anyone who remembers the 60's...wasn't there.

    I remember the 1960's.

I enlisted in the Navy in 1959 and spent the first few Years of the 1960's
    in the Military.

The Movies in the Late 1950's about Illegal Drugs, showed the Law
catching the Adults who got Young People addicted to Drugs, and how Dope affected those Kids.

After I served my enlistment I noticed the TV Shows and Movies changed.
Now they were about "How Wonderful To Get High".

It shocked Me that in just a few Years the Entertainment System was
    Promoting Drug Use.

    Not for Me!

I'm DOPEY ENUF without that stuff. Always have been.

    I would say so.

It also reminds me of a deal where in this office, this one woman was constantly complaining that "her legs were killing her in pain".

Well, nearby, was a double amputee, who had prosthesis for both legs.
He finally got tired of her whining, so he pressed the button, and both
his legs shot off of his body, and landed at her feet!! She let out a
blood curdling scream, and he was laughing his face off!! <G>

    Ed,

    I remember the 1960's.

I vaguely remember it...back to first grade, and don't recall much
    else.

I enlisted in the Navy in 1959 and spent the first few Years of the 1960's EV>in the Military.

Thank you for your service to your country, sir. :)

The Movies in the Late 1950's about Illegal Drugs, showed the Law EV>catching the Adults who got Young People addicted to Drugs, and how Dope EV>affected those Kids.

The local PBS affiliate, KETS, in Miami, Florida...did a show called
"Bobby". It was about a young boy who started with marijuana (vomiting
all over the place at a beach party), then he progressed to LSD,
amphetamines (uppers), barbituates (downers), and finally heroin.

One of the final scenes started with a beautiful house in a quiet
south Florida neighborhood...with a voice over noting "I used to live in
this nice home". Then, it dissolved to a shot of a cemetery plot, with a
voice over noting "This is where I am now". The class had to write a
report on it, and mine was rated the best one!!

I had a similar thing in high school in Little Rock, where 3 inmates
from Tucker Prison came to the school. My report made the high school paper...got a byline, a headline, and everything. :)

I'm DOPEY ENUF without that stuff. Always have been.

I feel so stupid on ham radio sometimes...and I know others have done
such. Here are the examples that come to mind (not in any particular
    order):

    1) One ham started his net preamble, spiel, etc. -- when all he heard
was static instead of a pile-up of checkins, he looked down, and saw he
was on 20 meters instead of 2 meters.

    2) Another ham called his net, and a ham came to him afterwards, asking
if he was going to do the net. He said I just did...but was horrified
when told "you called the net on a competing clubs repeater"!! :P

    3) Four guys are sitting around a restaurant table in Annapolis, Maryland...telling each other dirty jokes in Morse Code (CW). This drop
dead, gorgeous, curvaceous female, walked up to them, and admonished the
group "You boys need to watch your language!! I teach CW at the Naval
Academy across the street!!", and walked out!! They were as red as
    tomatoes!! <BG>

    4) Before I had undergone cataract surgery, I was legally blind, and
severely nearsighted. But, being chairman of both the Talk-In and Packet Stations at the Hamfest, I had to get some help. So, I recruited 3
completely blind hams to help at Talk-in. Now, while I had to escort
them to and from the restroom, and get their food...their being at the
talk-in table allowed me to walk around the hamfest and explore the
goodies, etc. Yet, the joke was that "Talk-In was being run by 4 hams
who could not see a thing...but they were giving directions to the
    hamfest!!" <BG>.

The kicker, though...it was a Friday night/Saturday day event. They had
sealed off some of the exits on the west side of the complex. The
overhead lights were off, and they had not yet re-striped the recently
paved parking lot. I groaned "I'm lost!! I can't find my way out of this parking lot!!".

One of the blind hams, grabbed the mic, keyed up the wide area coverage repeater, and announced "This is a Talk-Out Net, for the Talk-In
Station, who can't find his way out of the parking lot!!" <BG>. I tried
to say (in sarcasm) "I wanted to use his seeing eye dog", and the
sarcasm was returned with "He's tied to the front bumper right now!!"

To this day, people ask me if I need help getting out of parking
lots...I'll never live it down. Yet, I bring it up again to prove that
"if you can't laugh at yourself, you have a lot of problems". In fact,

at a hamfest in 2016, these 3 blind hams were sitting together at a
table, and after doing the license exam session that morning, I walked
up to them and asked "Can one of you blind hams help me get out of this
parking lot??!!" -- to which they screamed "DARYL!! YOU RASCAL!!" -- and everyone within earshot, was roaring in laughter. :D
