When the time comes, one can have hospice at home... at least here, one NB>can... Just need to have sufficient help or be willing to be pretty
much sleeping with one eye open... Actually, here, there is a
possibility of having aides come in to help, along with a hospice NB>nurse... We did that for my mom, so that she wouldn't have to leave the NB>house...

We did that for my late grandmother...she died of lung cancer in 1993.
My Dad went to a hospice unit in west Little Rock. He only lasted 6
weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, just before
Christmas, 2006.

She got over 200 million hits and votes for her performances.

Impressive.. :)

One skit that Darci Lynn Farmer (who is now 13) did, was with her
"elderly lady", named "Edna Doorknocker". With so many things that Darci
said (she was actually doing all the talking, as ventriloquists do), her
facial expressions were a hoot!!

1) In telling Edna that "the age difference between you and that young
man could be fatal", Edna replies "Well, if he dies...he dies!!" <G>

2) In telling Edna that "without me, you can't sing", Edna replied
"Without me, you don't have a college fund!!" <BG>.

The second one reminds me of Ventriloquist Todd Oliver, who uses his
own dog (Irving, a boston terrier) in his act. The dog wears a device
(which has been approved by the SPCA), and the way Todd controls it, it
looks as if the dog is actually talking!!

Todd: "Without me, you wouldn't talk!!".

Irving: "Without me, you wouldn't eat!!". LOL

And, with both shows with Darci Farmer, and Todd Oliver, respectively,
the content is CLEAN, and G-rated...which is sure refreshing nowadays!!

Home hospice is a very good thing... and the hospice units can be a
close second... I would definitely recommend it... :)

The only "dirty word" I ever heard the late Red Skelton use was the
same one the late Clark Gable used in "Gone With The Wind" nearly 80
years ago. The battle between him and the censors with the Motion
Picture Association Of America, threatened to destroy the film.

Nowadays, that expletive is commonplace...as are so many others.

Was that the one with the dog??

I watched the movie Old Yeller years ago and my then cat got to
watching as well. She liked the ending the best. :)

That's as bad as ventrioquist Nita Condi (she can be as raunchy
as Jeff Dunham at times). When her monkey asked her how long they
had (they were on a late night TV show, after the local news),
she told him "Maybe 2 or 3 minutes...I don't have my vibrating watch
on"...and the monkey replied "Thank God For That!!" <G>.

Both she and Jeff Dunham can get into R-rated material at times.
Compare that to ventriloquists Darci Lynn Farmer and Todd Oliver,
whose shows are strictly G-rated material.

I saw Todd once in Branson, with his dog "Irving", and some of the
clips are on YouTube. I've never seen Darci in person, but her shows
sell out quick!! It was just 4 years ago that she won "America's Got Talent"...and it was awfully noble of her to invite runner-up Angelica
Hale and her family, to come to Las Vegas with her, and appear with her
on stage. I understand they are great friends.

Angelica is a miracle in her own right. At 4 years of age, she got
double pneumonia, and her kidneys were failing. Her Mom graciously
donated one of her kidneys, and that saved her daughter's life.

I think of the comic strip "Mother Goose And Grimm". The dog likes to
drink out of the toilet, and he lives with a cat named "Atilla" (never
mind the Hun <G>).

One day, he said "Atilla!! I found Tootsie Rolls in your litterbox!!".
Atilla growled "Grimmy...I have news for you". <G>

I've not seen it; the only classic tearjerker I've read is "Where the Red
Ferns Grow." -- loved it!

Tried reading Old Yeller, but the beginning descriptions of the abuse
heaped on him were too depressing. If that's the story of the dog initially sold to be a sled dog? I know of the infanously sad ending, too, so nothing
to look forward to, so I moved on to the next book in my then-current queue

Have you tried selling your books in sets (same author, series, or genre)
on eBay? I know individyually you're competing with the guys seling them fo
1c!

I watched an interesting video on how they can make money doing that & they
do -- millions!
