Several years ago a local cop, young guy, told this story of their
doing some undercover work and driving an expensive car that been taken
in a drug raid.
They were cruising around late one night and saw a Marshall car parked
on the street. They went tearing down the street making a lot of noise
and attracting attention and nothing. They drove by again even more so, squealing tyres, etc. Nothing. They drove by a third time, slowly and
found the Marshall cop sound asleep. :)
They then saw a couple of their co-workers and did the same thing and
soon had half the midnight shift after them as they raced all over the
place, this way and that.
Finally they hit an area where a street ends and branches off in two directions. They took one, pulled over, lights out, and waited. Several police cars came flying up, lights and sirens of course, with one going
one way and the other towards where they were waiting. (They were around
a bend where they could see the cops but the pursuers couldn't see them).
When that car got close they peeled out and the chase was on again.
After some distance (now they had been doing this all over town) they
pulled over and pulled up their hoodies and sat there. When the cop
chasing them got near the car the one young cop gave him the you're
number one wave.
The pursuit cop was not a happy camper by this point and they nearly
got shot.
The Marshall cop I was with asked "Ever do that again?" The young cop lowered his head and muttered, "no".
We were ROLOL laughing at this story and that quiet "no" was the topper.
