I don't recall her ever even getting mad about something.
One time I was preparing dinner and moving about in the kitchen from
the table to the stove, to the sink, back again, over and over.
She decided that would be a good time get my attention and started
walking around my feet and whining.
This went on for some time and I finally asked, in frustration, "Do
you remember kitty jail?" She mewed sadly. I said if you don't stop you're going back! She then went under the table and never made a
sound until I picked up and asked her forgiveness for fussing at her.
She did. :)
We don't believe in declawing cats, either... although we did have one
with us that worked pretty hard on making me change my mind
Blanche would sometimes scratch the furniture. (Never touched the drapes). I have a throw on the couch that has a hole she made when it
was new. (It can be draped around to hide it).
We've generally had healthy cats, and not many vet visits... most
died of old age here at home
Muffy, a Maine coon, who died at 19 in 1998, went into convolutions
one Thursday evening while playing in a paper bag. I laid on the floor petting her when she had another one (and several others). Friday
morning she was up and around and made an inspection tour of the apartment. When I got home from work she was nearly paralyzed. I
wrapped her in a towel (to easily carry her) and had her in my lap,
fed her with an eye dropper, etc. I also made an appointment with the
vet for Saturday morning. That night I laid her beside me (she always slept on top of the bed) to comfort her when she had another attack and she passed over peacefully in her sleep when I found her the following morning.
Molly suddenly took ill as well and died in my lap.
I had to go to work so posed her on the couch, as if sleeping.
Blanche had been alone with her all day.
When I got home with a borrowed shovel I held her and asked Blanche
if she wanted to to give her a goodbye kiss, kneeling on the floor
beside her, which she did.
With Muffy and Blanche it was a couple of days before I could bury
them out back. I wrapped them in a towel and put them in the fridge
until I could bury them. :)
The occasional scratch the furniture we could take in stride, with aserious warning to the offender...
She left as she wanted... peacefully at home in her own surroundings...
All three are buried in back, at the foot of the fire escape/back
stairs.
When I take out the trash I pass by them and say hello.

Just like when you're about to hit SAVE on a long document you just
typed at the computer or online, and <ZAP!> -- the power and internet
goes out...and you don't have a UPS as a backup.
Since I've decided to NOT travel anymore outside of central
Arkansas, if I can get some money next spring...after paying off the income taxes and property taxes (the former by April 15, the latter by October 10), and my Mom's credit cards...I hope to get a Generac
Generator installed. It'll run off the natural gas, but I'll be able to have power here constantly. However, even with power on with the generator, if the internet is out, it won't matter on the BBS...but at least, I can still do computer work.
One reason I don't type documents online if I can help it (which at
least is usually)... and tend to manually save periodically when I'm NB>writing anything extensive.... We've never had a UPS as a backup....
And the power is more likely to go out than the phone lines and
internet, unless the weather takes down ALL the lines of whichever...
