So you didn't take Molly in the carrier...? Or you found it later....

adopted me. She had some respiratory problem and ok after a few days of fighting her to take doses of some orangey looking and smelling meds. At
the vets was a woman who adopted her cat the same time I did and had the
same problem. Something going around the shelter.
Otherwise she was always in good health and stayed inside. It was only
her last 36 hours she became ill and died in my lap as I stroked her and
talked to her.

Many cats have a sense of cause and effect... building gone, no chance
for a return....

She and her elder "sister" Muffy, who died six months before I got
Molly, were both from the shelter.
Molly was an older cat, about five, and someone had declawed her, which
to me is unacceptable. She was such a sweet thing with that "please
adopt me" look that melts ones heart. And she was the sweetest, most affectionate cat ever.

Otherwise she was always in good health and stayed inside. It was
only her last 36 hours she became ill and died in my lap as I

stroked her and talked to her.

of old age here at home

Blanche, in her younger days, was always lived life to the fullest.
As she grew older her health steadily declined. She had only one eye
when I adopted her when she was about a year old (her previous slave had
her spayed, in good health, etc). But her last year or so she was going
blind in the other eye, almost deaf, losing her teeth, etc. And she just lingered on. I couldn't bear to put her down though it might have been
for the best.
It was sort of a relief when she did pass over to Rainbow Bride.

So her look didn't hide a bad temper... ;) We don't believe in
declawing cats, either... although we did have one with us that worked
pretty hard on making me change my mind on that policy.... she was
shredding furniture legs, including the piano's.... and other things
made of wood.... instead, I wrapped the legs of the piano and other
furniture with rags tied at strategic places to deter her... hot pepper
didn't deter her at all....

Bridge...? :) Yeah... one of ours had some sort of cancer in his
throat... and Richard was just about to take him in to the vet the next morning.... but he slipped away overnight, lying in one of his favorite
sites in the house....
