    I know what you mean. Same here. :)
    I wouldn't ask for them to put up with me, uh, put me up, for the
    night but if they offered, I accepted.
    I always planned my trips so someone I knew was within a driving
    range.

    Depending on who it was, sometimes I'd outright ask if they'd be able to
    put me up for the night... If I was needing housing over a weekend, I
    might call the pastor of the local OP church and ask if he knew anyone
    from the church that could put me up, so as to facilitate my being able
    to get to that church for worship on the Sunday...

    There was the time or two I'd park the van in a church's parking lot for
    the night and sleep there, too... But not being a guy, bushes didn't
    work quite so well for me...

    Nothing bad ever did... onve I saw a couple of deer come out of the
    bordering trees, early morning...

    I sometimes pulled into a parking lot.
    One time I slept in a wheat field in Kansas.

    That sounds like fun... as long as it was good weather... ;)

    As you know there is a bad opedial problem in this country. I heard
    of someone who pulled off the road and put a note in their window "I
    have not OD'd, I'm just taking a nap". :)

    Oh, you mean opioidal problem... Yeah, nowadays that might be the
    assumption, that someone had OD'd....

    There was a girl on campus several years ago whom I would find
    sleeping in her car each morning. She had pillow, blanket, etc. When
    it was class time she went and left afterward. Never bothered her once
    I knew she was ok. Joe

    Was she driving in from a bit of a distance perhaps...? And needed to
    be there for an early class....? I can see coming in the night before
    to make sure I was ther on time... ;)
