Your mailer is ignoring all my LinuxNet messages and isn't sending any mail since a month or so..
Mails to AreaFix are taken without any complaints but I never get an answer. No matter if I'm writing from my node aka or the host aka...

I'ld rather not... I liked the idea of a linux ftn since I'm a linux admin for living, with a bbs running on linux for fun.. ..It just made so much sense.. ;) I guess, I'll wait some longer - doesn't hurt me too much.. ;)

Then changed the routing for LinuxNet anyway since I did it wrong in the first place and tried to resubscribe to all echos. No response..
Then I switched my complete setup from binkd+mystic to binkd+husky+golded(+mystic)...
So there's a fair chance I'm the one doing wrong...

But I do know fido's working fine on my side.. So after having written several netmails over the last month, this echo was my last resort.. ;)

Well, I don't know.. ;) I didn't receive an answer from his AreaFix confirming my changes, but I also didn't receive any echomail since then.. So chances are 50/50 I really unsubscribed or there's an earlier error on his side...

Then again: Yesterday I found him advertising his JustaXnet at the othernets fido echo.. I know that's just a cronjob but these echomails arrivind at my system do mean his config isn't completely f*cked up..

Maybe he doesn't receive external mail at all, which should come to his attention sooner or later or it's just the routing for my, what do you call it,

Then there's still a chance he sees the answer from 2:230/0 and wonders about the missing original post...

There was something odd about it though!

Normally his system posts 8 of these messages at about the same time in the OTHERNETS area:

Linuxnet
Sysop's TechNet
Pascal-Net
1 AdvnetureNet
JustaXnet
1 JustaXnet
ZyXEL-Net
VirNet

Yesterday there were only 3 of those... At least that was what arrived here.

I remember a config problem of mine. An existing file causes the unpacker to ask for overwrite Y/N. Depending on the toss script it could block all further tossing by lockfiles. Did you try uncompressed netmails already?

You wrote the situation lasts since weeks. Maybe because of that Benny said he would put Gert to the down status. I don't know if that really happens with the
next nodelist update. In R24 the usual procedure is setting the node to hold and give him time to fix his problem. If it's fixed all hold mail is transfered
and there are no holes in the mail chains.

Not really. ;) By default CTRL-Y removes a complete line. That's what you want but it's not a deletetion. It's a move into the buffer, you can call it back with CTRL-U. The buffer survives between editing mails.

Try to use ALT-B on (set cursor into this line first)
this text block if you quoted it.
Very useful too
for partial quotings.

There are a lot of reasons like mystic being pretty buggy in every concern, not
having decent config-files but a proprietary configuration program bound to a resolution of 80x25, not being opensource, doing too much at once, but the first most reason is: 'Cause I wanted to.

Yes, I did.
And I will continue "collecting" othernets, 'cause that's just part of the fun for me..
I'm not a big writer nor reader on any of these ftn-networks, including fido, but what I do with a passion is configuring, installing, managing these networks and my ftn setup as a whole. As soon as one network is running stable,
it's less interesting for me.. Fido's running perfectly since 2 years, so... ;)

I guess we just have different approaches to this...

I was wrong. All Fidonet mailer can't call him now. Thanks to Zone 110 would have it's own nodelist and all LinuxNet Systems can still dial him.

For Fidonet the situation isn't that bad either. Gert still have 2:230/152 activ. If you haven't tried that aka send CM or routed netmail to him.
