You think correct. Thank you for remarking this.
That address is my main one, and FidoNet my first AKA.

    It should be corrected now.

perhaps you can tell us who is the moderator here, henri? there's never been any election or choosing process for moderator that i know of and certainly there's been no posting of the rules by whomever you think is the moderator... the echo was started by its moderator and has been maintained by a moderator since then... echos simply do not suddenly popup into existence without someone
starting them and that someone is the moderator... that is the fidonet way and it always has been... you've been around long enough to know this...

There was no rules or moderator posting since i got the echo in 2013.

That automated moderator posting is spam and the only reason for need of an moderator is that annoying spam now.

perhaps you can tell us who is the moderator here, henri? there's

    of

    How could you

the echo was started by its moderator

tell that then? A single person can't start an echo, you need two at least. Anytwo can start an echo, but to make it an official fidonet echo, it must be added to the echolist, which is job of the *EC as far as i know. For your case that means, the *EC is the starter for the fidonet echo and then the *EC is the
    moderartor. ;)

suddenly popup into existence without someone starting them and that someone is the moderator... that is the fidonet way and it always has been...

Fidonet is more than Zone 1 and no, it is not always that way.

My way today is that i don't want to waste my time with that kiddy-goo.

We do not need a moderator with that low traffic these days.

And we do not need to get spammed by a rules bot here.

The fact that the bots owner didn't respond here proves that he did not show resposibility for the mod job, he's just playing with bots scripts.

Depends on the point of view. If you see it as judgement about the content and take it personally then you could not see that it's just an expression of my feelings.

And it feels like spam if i have to move the high water mark reading pointer on

    Hello Henri,

    Welcome!
The rules are simple: 1) Play nice! :-)
    2) (see rule #1)
    -=:{ End-of-rules }:=-

Sorry Ben, but YOU are NOT the elected and/or choosen moderator here.
So stop sending that automated posts of you here please.

Then who IYHO is the "Real" moderator?

In glancing backwards I see that Ben was listed as moderator back in 2002:

    Moderators: Ben Ritchey, 1:393/68, fidonet@bellsouth.net
Last changed: 18-Apr-2002 by "Ben Ritchey" , 1:261/1551, "Ben Ritchey" <FIDONet@Bellsouth.net>

Why now do you feel the need to object and complain? Sending automated postings
of the rules by the listed moderator is a common practice. I do it myself in the few echos that I manage.

You state "Elected" or "Chosen". Moderators are not always either elected or chosen. Elected or chosen by who? One can start an echo of their choice, list it with themselves (Or someone else) as moderator, and begin it's distribution.
Regardless of whether you adhere to the Elisting concept in Fidonet or not.

Are the rules overly complex? I see them as a rather simple statement of what behavior is expected.

I guess I fail to see the point that you are trying to make. Except maybe to create some entertainment for yourself.

    Jeff
