I will have to track down what's going on with that part. It's getting
chopped on my side too, but not nearly as bad as what everyone outside my system is seeing.

I just happened to read a message in another area that didn't have a tear or origin line and it also had the wrong address in the From line.

I think the 1:623/623 is from the origin line. If your nntp post had an origin line ending in (1:114/485) it would work as expected.

it seems that something between my system and your reader was incorrectly parsing the Origin line and truncating it at the areacode for the BBS phone number. I've removed the phone number from the origin line in order to work around the bug in whatever software (outside of my system) was doing the stupid.

After looking over the various ftsc documents that reference Origin lines (fsc-0074.001 appears to be the clearest), it seems that some software was assuming that the first "(...)" section it ran into was the end of the Origin line rather than looking for a "([<zone>:]<net>/<node>[.<point>][@<domain>])" section at the end of the line.

if that's the case, then that tosser needs to be found and fixed... origin line
parsing is BadJuJu<tm>... it should not be parsed... only copied as needed when
additional copies of the message are made during tossing...

I set up my phone as a point so I could see the raw message that it going out, and everything looks as I expected, so I'll assume for now that it's not my system.

It's a bit of a maze of stuff to try and make it all work together.. :)

The TID of your post says MBSE-NNTPD 1.0.7.6-ksb and it looks good all around here. The From: line says the message is is from Ken Bowley @ 1:114/485 and it looks like any other post in the net.
