    It seems that if the fidonet side uplink of soupgate is a
    point, that point appears here. Obviously a bug, but in a
    'normal' setup that would not happen. ;)

    I use Soup2Sq here, a nice little utility that will put SOUP packets
    directly into Squish message bases, no additional setup needed.

    The bonus part: I'd found that utility many years ago and had written
    the author, asking if he still took registrations. He sent me back a registration key gratis and thanked me for letting him know someone
    still used his program.

    I have used SOUPER here before and have used it with GoldEd's internal
    SOUP packet handling with great success.

    It's a nice way to grab mail, put it onto my laptop, and go to a lovely
    picnic spot on a lake about an hour from my home to have lunch, enjoy
    nature, and read my mail.

    I have checked several SOUP utilities in the past. This one too. But I
    liked Soupgate best. It has been my personal netmail<->email gateway
    for years. ;)

    What I now miss, is a souper for linux. Spoon compiles and can get
    news, but posting doesn't work fully.

    Nowadays there is always internet everywhere. :)

    That sounds like Maximus BBS. It works partially but MEX is completely
    borked. I'm surprised that something like Yarn wouldn't work for that.

    Not in the US. If you live outside the major cities, it can be very difficult to get Internet access or even cell phone coverage despite what is advertised.

    However, if I am desperate for email, I can send/receive email via amateur radio using Winlink. <G>

    Most of the time, I'm not on the Internet anymore. I've burnt out on it.

    I still enjoy BBSing though and that's why I use offline mail. Allows me to take my time when working with mail.
