It's all about getting to develope A1 or hardware to host Amiga OS4. EyeTech doesn't want to for various reasons. The claim -- short supply of PPC cpu's -- doesn't holdup anymore.

Indeed! Can Amiga floppies be red on a PC? Or do you need to start your Amiga to convert them to files?

a1200 is a lightwigth a4000
a500 do as a a600, but a500 plus is realy just an a600 in hardware where the a500 ports is still the samme, where its changed on a600 to be like the a1200 is

and a500 plus have no pcmcia card slot, a600 can only have 2M chip mem, and if you want more you need a new computer :/

a600 and a1200 can have mem extensions on pcmcia cardslots, but you can max have 4M internel mem in the 8M autoconfig range so, problem is that the cardslot is in the autoconfig memory range, for realy no reason :/(

OS4 will setup on their Mac Mini. Arrrgghhh! And then there is the PegasosII, that asks too. Hyperion really hates the topic of OS4 in X86. So, with no A1 being built, how does Amiga continue to live?

They have been in boxes away from everything magnetic for more then 5 years now. I must also have some left over c64 floppys somewhere in a box, but I don't care to look for them. ;)

OS4 platform failing? Good evil mystery, IMO! :/

The A1 is currently not online. Since moving, I haven't worked out the new
ISP problems...

I was just telling David Veatch, our wonderful REMOTE SYSOP, that I'm
nearby a computer center lab that has WindowsXP on Dells to do work. I use
a 256MB USB drive -- SanDisk to keep the AmigaOne tuned into the world. I
need to study some Roadshow on the A1 to setup DSLnetworking via AT&T
and Yahoo! :)

As for dialup via modem, I don't have my linux anymore. So, that's one reason for not doing that. I'm not aware of any TERM program working with the A1
and a FAX modem to call Eastpointe BBS, but I'll check it out. Let you know what happens.

A nice idea, but not in the Amiga World yet! ApplePPC is not A1PPC. I hear Knoppix works with PC OK.

I rather checkout my AmigaOS4 stuff! =:o
Linux's Minicom worked fine with my serial port, so why not just OS4 and a terminal program. Anyway it needs to tested before entering the area of ISPs and internet dialup anyway; DSL or not.! :/
