Hmm, I don't have as many programs, but I've got most of the rest.

Georgia isn't that far away, if you'd or anyone would care to make an offer:

WB 2.1 installed. CygnusEd 2, DirOpus4, Tool Manager, ViewTek, Personal
Paint, Trapdoor 1.62B and Spot 1.3b aboard, at minimum.

A2000 HD (B2000 MB), A2620 accelerator, GVP Hardcard (used for memory), 1MB chip/8MB fast RAM. I'm a bit hazy on which, but I have 1 each 500MB and 100
MB Fujitsu, 1 50 MB Quantum; maybe one more.

I just need to get the files I want to keep off the drives and onto the
other box.

It was my upgrade from C128/64 to run the BBS as the SCSI drives were
cheaper for Amiga than the CBM's (Lt Kernals). Would still be running
the BBS on it but Y2K bug killed the software for the BBS ;(

Before the echolistings get dropped, I want to bring something up. There is likely going to be an Amiga system joining my local net... not set in stone yet, but it is a little more than likely. He is tied in with C-Net, and there is a good possibility that users of his BBS may grace the halls of the Amiga based echoes in FidoNet. Being as he is also tied in with other Amiga based systems that don't currently have FidoNet, if Amiga based echoes remain in distribution, they may be an attraction to such systems to get involved with FidoNet once they see one of their peers doing the same.

It's something I'd kind of like to see. Would be kind of like seeing FidoNet come full circle. If nobody wanted to maintain the listings anymore, there's a

good chance I could convince Rich Gattie (Amiga-Z BBS) telnet://amigazbbs.dyndns.org to take them.

Spot is my message reader/tosser. Makes a fine stand-alone setup. It's
what I'm using here, along with CygEd, which is a very good general editor.

Most of the rest are nice to have utilities, and very handy.

I always did think the Amiga was highly underrated...

Yep, it was Xenolink 2.something with a mailer, tic and a few things
you don't find in some of these new BBS programs.

I run EzyCom now, with a util for every function possible but I just
don't have time to mess around (too) much.

BTW, I still have a working BBS on a C128/64 with a 20 & 40 Mb. SCSI 1
h/drives hooked up !! Can do a 14.4 modem as well :)
BUT nobody cares anymore (sob) :)

That's something to behold... I remember calling a C64 BBS... my friend wrote it entirely in BASIC... very simple, but it never crashed.

That's something to behold... I remember calling a C64 BBS... my friend wrote it entirely in BASIC... very simple, but it never crashed.

Basic code was compiled into 'P' code and boy, did it fly!
No Virii, crashes and all the crap we put up with nowdays.

Amiga stuff was OK but boy, what an Orphan :(

I guess Sean has stepped up on it (???)... The Amiga-Z SysOp is still working on his setup so he isn't in yet. He seems to be having some problems with the FTN-FTP program in his C-Net setp.

Well... I wouldn't be the one... I had just mentioned that -if- the echoes were

going to be dropped, I may be able to get the new node coming into my net, who is an Amiga SysOp to take the listing. I have just started looking in the Amiga echoes due to the fact an Amiga Op is coming in over here... I really don;t know how many people here participate that often, and upon seeing the message of the drop just had that thought come to me.

Truth be told, being experienced in FidoNet, and obviously Amiga systems, Sean would be a better candidate than the Amiga SysOp who is just coming in to FidoNet.

Heh-heh... I never said -I- wanted it. I'm not a good candidate for an Amiga echo, at all... my old time experience was running a BBS on (dare I say it in here?) an Atari 130XE. ;> I wouldn't be here enough to watch over it. As far as

Amiga systems go, Rich would be qualified in that department, and he would likely bring some of the Amiga users on his system into the echoes, but his lack of experience with things Fido could be a problem if he had to address an echo related problem, and/or a problem with echolist submissions.

I really have only been here because I try to be helpful when anybody inquires about FidoNet, and I was sort of scouting the Amiga echoes knowing it would be an interest of his. I'm actually thrilled to have an Amiga based BBS coming into the net here, as it has been almost 6 years since there was one. (C.D.A.U.G. BBS). It actually exites me that people can use their old systems as FidoNet SysOps.

Anyway... enough of that... you would likely be the one to do it. When you don't want it anymore, Rich will likely have sorted through the way things are in Fido and be more ready for it, if somebody else didn;t want the job. The whole thought was (I was thinking the echo was actually about ready to drop) just to save the echo for anybody new that might utilize it.

Spot is my message reader/tosser. Makes a fine stand-alone setup. It's what I'm using here, along with CygEd, which is a very good general editor.

I still use CygnusED v4.2 in OS4. Works great, still. :)

No problem and no rush... I'm still working on rebuilding the BBS back up to speed here. The mail system is basically functioning, but I need to install and configure all of the automated stuff, plus, I have to find a new hard drive-this one that it's on is starting to get bad blocks and we all know what happens when you see that message... :/

yes amiga miss still programs for nodelist crations, i remember that from my amiga time as a sysop there, lets hope that someone makes ums portable with A1 :)

it already is but does NOT support NSD, and ums msgbase cant be on the last 4Gb

of a harddisk, it only works on the first 4Gb of any drive, thats imho the badest coding on amiga bypassing dos.library calls :(

was that a oberon limitaion ?

other then that crashmail, crashtick, trapdoor, ums, pint have done a very good

job in fido on my amiga 2000, amiga 3000, amiga 4000, not my a1000 :)

if Neil wants to be on the hall of fame look at http://fido.juncorg.dk/ in LINUXNET.APPS there is the source code for makenl, port it to A1 :)

or just compile it on there debian os :)

Usually indicates you've lost parrt of your root directory, perhaps the
boot block. <shudder>
