David L. Stevens and All will demonstrate tag-team No Mails in a week.
    Everyone take notes.

Geez! We've got someone who doesn't remember Gary and Asha (they're
    not
a couple)! Gary Peake is now working for Amiga, Inc. Asha Develder was the moderator of this echo a few years ago. Now she's a co-moderator
of the Team Amiga Mailing List (TAML) on owlnet.net.

After checking my logs, it appears Bo's messages didn't appear until a few weeks ago.

lol, darkside, Graig is on the other side :-)
an Amiga IS a PC in the meaning of a Personal Computer
Okay I meant a Intel based PC :-)

Just so we can all understand what's being discussed, what say we call them "Wintel Boxes"?

But they're not ALL Wintel machines. AFAIK Benny doesn't even have Windows installed. He does have at least one x86 machine though.

It worked back when Gary and Asha were here.

    Yeah, but things change....

    Hmm.. Who?

    Oh, that's right.

Gary Peake was one of our more prolific posters, and is - I think -
    part of the AmigaOne team.

Okay. Good there is people like those, they should just be in Fidonet.

Asha Develder was our most prolific poster, and ran the IRC chats on Sundays, and was my predecessor as Moderator.

    Okay.

I think I've held the position longest, but I'm not sure.

    Thanks :-)

Not always for the better. I'd rather have Joyce back as Moderator, and

Not by a long shot. Joyce Divina founded the echo and was moderator for over ten years.

Team Amiga? No Team Amiga history there.

Team Amiga *did* start here though. It was Rick Lembree's (hope there's Amigas in heaven Rick!) sly dig at a bunch of usenet posters and their own "Team OS/2".

The mantle of Team Amiga cooordinator(s) only passed to Gary and Asha after Rick's untimely death.

For those who weren't around in those heady days, Rick ran Harbor Lights BBS and like Asha, Gary and even Joyce, was a stanch supporter of the Amiga.

You're skating on thin ice with that remark, Craig.

No more platform bashing. That includes the OS. Nobody can help what's on their system when they buy it.

Also, the implication that persons who use those OSs are idiots is just
this side of unforgivable. Don't do it again.

Most people have given up on Fido for the Net. There's two reason for me
still reading this echo 1) I can get is as a e-mail feed, and 2) the flow
is so little I haven't bothered to learn how to disconnect - because, honestly, there's not much to come after anymore.

Well, time changes everything and it has definitely changed Fido.

I have been reading AMIGA for ten years with a few periods here and there
when no feed was available for me. Just think about back when this echo was
a several hundred messages a day echo. Does anybody know then AMIGA
started for the very first time.

I have been reading AMIGA for ten years with a few periods here and

It's not so hard to get onto AMIGA. There are some webpages for getting onto Fidonet, and they have the AMIGA echo available.

Else, there are ways to get point access on Snoop InfoSystems via IP or dialup.

a several hundred messages a day echo. Does anybody know then AMIGA

I remember these days. Heck, that was the first time I managed to crash a

OTOH, there's now some real software available to manage the workload, else MailManager on the Amiga will still do and in some points, is way superior to quite some Linux stuff.

Of course. But the Amiga scene has changed a lot over the last ten years.
It is dying and have been so for a long time. Okay, it will probably still survive many, many years and the userbase might even stabilize at some

Kinda long time. I remembered in 97 was the flow pretty high.

It's so, but if you write something, you're quite scure to get response.
