    Most of my fun was street shooting with 640x480 toycams. At that level,
    it's all about creativity, composition and capturing light.

    But those are the timeless fundamentals of photography, and you mention them
    as if they were of the small-time amateour with a low-end camera, whereas it is the technicalities that are easy to learn (with perseverence), transient
    (because technology evolves), and accessible to everyone. The Art of
    producing a beautiful photograph, on the other hand, is precious.

    Too often, photographers (myself included) become obsessed with gear, megapixels, lens sharpness, auto-exposure modes, raw modes and more.
    Getting back to the fundamentals with a basic camera helps solidify
    those fundamentals.

    I used to feel the same way shooting with a Smena 35 - a plastic $20
    camera with no meter, no autofocus, and a sharp 35mm triplet lens. Load
    it up with 100 ASA film, set the focus to around 8 feet, expose using
    Sunny 16 rules, and I pulled some of the sharpest, beautiful photos with
    that thing.
